Promenade Pictures
Promenade Pictures is a motion picture production and distribution company founded in 2005 and led by Cindy Bond and Frank Yablans, former head of Paramount Pictures and of MGM/UA. Promenade’s goal is the creation of life-affirming, socially conscious and broadly inspiring family film entertainment that will move audiences to explore those topical issues which affect our daily lives.
The company is structured around a unique management team, all of whom have excelled in various leadership positions in the entertainment field. Most notably, as the former CEO of Paramount Pictures, Frank Yablans was responsible for the development, production and marketing of films acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, including The Godfather (1972), Paper Moon (1973), Death Wish (1974), Murder on the Orient Express (1974) and The Longest Yard (1974). Yablans later rebuilt Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and United Artists by reducing costs and rearranging the two companies into one entity: MGM/UA. Under his guidance, the newly reconstructed company produced and distributed War Games (1983), Octopussy (1983), A Christmas Story (1983), Yentl (1983), Red Dawn (1984), Teachers (1984) and 2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984). Yablans’s last independent film, Congo (1995), was produced for Paramount Pictures and grossed in excess of $650 million worldwide.
In addition to Yablans, the executive team and primary partners of Promenade have held key roles with properties that have generated over $2 billion in worldwide revenue, including recent films such as: The Passion of the Christ (2004), The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (2005), The Polar Express (2004), The Note (2007) and Rocky Balboa (2006).
